No Excuses

After seeing this I just had to share it.

Thoughts of Gratitude…

So, it’s 1:26 AM, just got back from a long day at a company conference.  We had a lot of great speakers and it was good to meet many of the people who I’ve only had an online relationship with until now.

I need to be awake again at 6AM, but for some reason my brain won’t stop spinning and I just wanted to write down a few things for you here.

I’ve been focusing and thinking a lot about gratitude and what has taken me to where I am, and what my real focus(es) are.

If you look at my mission statement, you’ll see the word adventure.  To me life is ultimately all about happiness, and adventure is a unique word that fits into happiness and can be synonymous in a way that helps me see and more clearly define my purpose.

If there is any one thing that has made a difference in my happiness lately, it has been actually two things, and these will be reoccurring themes…

1-    The 80/20 rule
2-    Gratitude

I have been trying to keep a gratitude journal and it makes a huge difference on your attitude.

There are a few things I wanted to tell people I am grateful for…

1.    My parents and family.  I have no idea where I would be without a dad who asked his 12 year old son why the heck he wanted a job when I was looking to get a paper route.  It set me on a course of entrepenuership that has changed me forever.  There is so much more to this, I could talk about my parents, family and closest friends for a long long time.

2.    An opportunity to make a difference, matter to people and live a life that I love.  I get so much joy and satisfaction and just plain goodness from what I get to do every day.  I get to be challenged, intrigued, and I get to matter to people

3.    Amazing business partners.  Nothing is possible without people.  Further more nothing really matters without people.  If it weren’t for people being willing to join forces, see my vision and go for it there would be no way I could ever even imagine working on what I am doing now.  All of my best business partners have been tearchers and mentors and coaches to me as well as friends.  They have been students and mentees to me as well, and that is what has made the partnership.

4.    Authors and gurus and experts who have given me the knowledge to succeed.  It has made such a huge difference in my life.  I think what it would be like if I had never read “rich dad poor dad” or the “4 hour work week” or “happier.”
5.    God.  Honestly this is the master gratitude statement.  There is no reason for me to hide this or not talk about it publicly.  I was re inspired by a speaker at our conference today, who shared 8 factors that made it possible for him to build a copany worth over $600 million dollars.  At the end, the 8th was Faith in God.  I am a very religious and spiritual person and have a lot of belief in these things.  There is no reason for me to be shy about it, it is who I am.  Honestly all good things in my life have come from God, and I can trace so much of the good to decisions that were made by me or other people in my life not because of logic or facts, but because of feelings, and because of the commandments of God and because of faith.  These decisions, as small as they have seemed, made a lasting impact and were small degrees of directional change that made huge differences.  So for me, there is no being shy or quite about it, all good things in my life have come from God and I believe in Him and his power.

Well there you have it.  It is now 1:39 am.  Time to sleep.  I have two amazing days ahead of me at this conference, there will be a lot of good to share.

Quotes To Live By: Ron Zeller, Brian Tracy, Mark Victor Hansen, and Garret Gunderson

quotes1Seminar Satruday

I recently realized just how many courses, books, membership sites, and over all great and powerful information I had available to me to grow my self and really make some remarkable things happen.  I took an entire saturday and cleaned and organized while listening to all kinds of programs, and there happened to be a white board in my office.  Well, as I heard things that stood out and hit me, I wrote them on the white board…

I want to use my white board again, but not loose the quotes, so here they are… I am thinking about doing a call with someone and interviewing them about these sayings as they apply to entrepenuers, just for fun…

Ron Zeller

“Anybody can but are you?”

“The rest of your life can be the best of your life.”

“If you want to break loose you ought to talk to people who broken loose.”

“People think that reasons are as good as results… Then you sink to the lowest level of life which is reasonableness.”

Garrett Gunderson

“Show me a billionaire without a payroll! (It’s about people/Purpose)”

(More to come from Garrett, he has phenomenal content)

Brian Tracy

On positive self talk, he gave one simple peice of self talk, just tell your self over and over again, “I can do it. I can do it.”

“There’s no failure, only feedback.”

(More to come from Brian Tracy as well)

Mark Victor Hansen

“If you let yourself listen to disater messages, your life will BE A DISASTER”

Well, that’s all for now, more to come…

Adventure Update: 1000 Mile Bike Ride

I Made A Decision On My Entrepenurial Adventure

This is mostly from my love of good senery, but the trip from Utah down to mexico going through either nevada or arizon is pretty ugly, hot and just didn’t seem like the places I wanted to be.

I decided the riding the entire PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) would be way better and a lot more fun, a lot cooler.  That said, I talked a lot more about it in this video, take a look…

SEO SPY REPORT: Week 3

Well, Ray and Ferny are dominating with this SEO mastermind. The cool thing is it really is a mastermind, I have got some great help from people in the forum, good ideas have come with questions during the presentation each week and it has been amazing.

So, first off, I am going to try to apply a lot of what I learned this week in this post. This is not necessarily the site that I will be SEOing, but I still want it to be bot friendly.

On Page SEO

This week was kind of an introduction to On Page SEO (more I found on On Page SEO here).  There is so much to this topic that there is no way to do a good spy report on it.  It is a detailed and complicated subject, that I really suggest you get more in detail about it with Raymond and Ferny (by the way, I am going to try to SEO for your names, then you can give berny a job sending me letters too :) ) P.S. You’ll want to check out the links to their names because, it goes to content from them on SEO.

Essentially, I look at On page SEO like formatting or design.  I have an art and photography background, and design in it’s core essence is truly all about taking information, taking a topic and organizing it in a way that it can be a form of communication above and beyond just the content.  The way Pepsi or Coke choose to arrange the colors, words, and their logo make all the difference in how you perceive and experience it.

The same thing is done with any type of concept, except with SEO there is another level to it, which is an art form in and of its self.

SEO for optimal user experience AND a easy indexing.

Making it possible for a human to read and get value from your content and really having it organized so that they can experience things better, is all a part of marketing in a social media world.  You are just serving your reader better, which when all is said and done, the only thing that matters.  In addition to that, you can organize in a way that lets the search engine bots and spiders read or “crawl” your site better.  The art is combining the two.

Super Cool SEO Conversion Technique

So, I am not going to share anything in particular that Ferny and Ray taught us.  It would be nearly impossible for me to do in text, take too long, not help you, and ultimately I want to allow them to preserve the exclusivity of their content.

But I will give you a special trick, that they gave me the idea for.  I will test this an know that it will work, but mainly this comes from my learning I have done with Perry Marshal.  You see, I think what separates a normal marketer or entrepenuer from the rest in any field is the ability to see ways to innovatively merge the basics and tried and true, common place rules of one discipline, and apply them to another in a way that most don’t think of or don’t do.

One of my favorite quotes from a favorite author, Jay Abraham, illustrates this point:

“A concept that is common as dirt in one industry, becomes an atomic bomb in another industry, if you’re first to deploy it.”

SO following, is a special video I made just to show you this, it is called:

The coolest, New Social Network Ever

You Know Just About Everything About A Person By The Books They Read…

So, a friend and business partner of mine, Jacob Paulsen recently showed me a social network that has huge potential.  Many “Adventure-Prenuers,” marketers, and the type of entrepreneurs who might be reading this site own or have authored information products, often times books.  Good Reads can quickly become a solid source of revenue for you.  Jacob and I decided to do a quick podcast about this just to explain a little better.

Jacob and I got right into the details of good reads and all the benefits it has to offer.  Check my interview with jacob paulsen on good reads here.
